It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. My brother.....was trying to teach me to hit a ball with a bat when I was 6.... he told me to stand behind him to watch how he did it... guess who got hit?? It wasnt the ball!
